Mock Pierogi Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cooked instant mashed potatoes
    1 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 sticks margarine, softened
    2 c. chopped onions
    1 lb. lasagna noodles
    1/2 to 1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
    Butter 13 x 9-inch pan with 1 entire stick of margarine. Saute onions in other 1/2 stick margarine.
    Stir onions in cooked instant potatoes.
    Cook noodles according to package directions; drain.
    Arrange and overlap 1 layer of noodles in pan.
    Spread with some of the potatoes and sprinkle with bacon, if desired. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
    Repeat layers as you would lasagna ending with cheese.
    Cover with foil and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
