German Potato Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 slices bacon
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. flour
2/3 c. cider vinegar
1 1/3 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
6 c. sliced cooked potatoes
Preparation

Fry bacon in skillet until crisp.
Remove and drain.
Reserve 2 to 3 tablespoons drippings.
Cook onions in drippings until tender.
Stir in flour slowly; blend well.
Add vinegar and water. Cook (stirring) until bubbly and slightly thick.
Stir in sugar, salt and pepper.
Simmer 10 minutes.
Crumble bacon.
Carefully stir bacon and potatoes into hot mixture.
Heat through, stirring lightly to coat potatoes.
Serve warm.
Makes 8 servings.
