Hot Bean And Potato Salad(Serve With Meat Or Fish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon
    1 medium-size onion, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
    4 medium size potatoes, peeled if desired and sliced
    about 3/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. (9 oz.) frozen green beans
    1/4 c. bottled oil-vinegar type Italian dressing or to taste
Preparation
    Cook bacon in skillet over medium heat until crisp.
    Drain on paper towels; crumble and reserve.
    Discard all but 1 tablespoon bacon fat.
    Add onion and garlic; stirring occasionally, cook until golden, about 3 minutes.
    Stir in potatoes and water; season with salt.
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Add beans; cover and cook 8 minutes longer or until vegetables are tender.
    Drain any liquid.
    Sprinkle with salad dressing and bacon.
    Toss gently. Makes 4 servings.
    Per serving:
    236 calories, 6 g protein, 26 g carbohydrate, 13 g fat, 7 mg cholesterol and 656 mg sodium.
