Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

In a large bowl mix shortening and peanut butter. Add sugars and stir until creamy.
Add egg and vanilla.
Stir until well mixed.
In another bowl combine flour, soda and salt.
Stir flour mixture into peanut butter mixture; stir well.
Shape into 1 inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Crisscross with fork (dip tines in flour).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove to cooling rack.
