Cherry Jeweled Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 whole chicken breasts
    salt and pepper
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. ground allspice
    1 c. orange juice
    1 1/2 c. fresh cherries
Preparation
    Season chicken with salt and pepper; brown lightly in butter. Cover and simmer 40 minutes or until almost tender; drain excess drippings.
    Combine sugar, cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon salt and allspice in saucepan.
    Gradually add orange juice.
    Cook and stir 5 minutes or until thickened.
    Stir in cherries.
    Pour cherry mixture over chicken.
    Simmer, covered, 5 minutes longer or until chicken is tender.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Spoon sauce over chicken breasts before serving.
    Makes 4 servings.
