Hamburger Fancy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground chuck beef
    2 eggs
    2 slices bread
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    3 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. ketchup
    12 slices bacon
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
Preparation
    Mix meat and eggs.
    Soak bread in water and squeeze out moisture.
    Add to meat mixture along with salt, pepper and ketchup.
    Mix lightly but thoroughly.
    Form into 12 sausage-shaped patties.
    Wrap a slice of bacon around each, securing with toothpicks.
    Heat shortening in a heavy skillet on top of range or in electric skillet at 375\u00b0.
    Fry in hot fat, about 8 minutes or until meat is cooked through.
