Caramel Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1 c. brown sugar
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 egg yolks
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 egg whites
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. pecans
Preparation
    Heat milk in a double boiler to scalding point.
    Mix together sugar, flour and salt.
    Add gradually to the hot milk.
    Stir until mixture is smooth and thick.
    Cover and cook over water 15 minutes.
    Pour mixture over well beaten egg yolks; return mixture to double boiler and cook 2 minutes.
    Cool mixture and stir in pecans and vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie crust.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Add sugar slowly.
    Add vanilla.
    Spread on top of pie and sprinkle with pecans.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 until brown.
