Thumbprints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. butter, softened
    1/8 tsp. salt
    fruit preserves
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except preserves.
    Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 2 to 3 minutes.
    Shape rounded teaspoonful of dough into 1-inch balls.
    Place 1-inch apart on greased cookie sheets. Make a depression in the center of each cookie with the back of a teaspoon.
    Bake 8 minutes. Remove from oven.
    Fill centers with preserves.
    Continue baking 6 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
