Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour, sifted
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated (room temperature)
    1 c. buttermilk
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. margarine or butter
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Grease tube pan.
    Cream margarine and sugar.
    Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each. Stir soda into 1/2 cup buttermilk.
    Stir salt into remaining milk. Add flour to butter and sugar mixture, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry and fold into batter.
    Pour into pan and bake 1 hour and 45 minutes or until cracks on top.
    Cool in pan.
