Ingredients

6 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. cold milk
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
4 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
8 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Add cocoa to 1 cup of sugar and mix well.
Stir in 2 cups milk to make smooth mixture and heat in top of double boiler.
Beat egg yolks.
Add flour, blended with remaining 1/2 cup of milk.
Add salt and stir into milk mixture.
Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
Add butter or margarine and vanilla.
Cool and pour into baked pastry shell.
