Fluffy White Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites (unbeaten)
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/3 c. cold water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Combine egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar, cold water and dash of salt in top of double boiler.
    Beat 1 minute.
    Cook over boiling water, beating constantly, until mixture forms peaks, about 7 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat until frosting is of spreading consistency.
    Makes enough to cover tops and sides of two 3-inch layers or tops and sides of two 9-inch layers.
