Hot Cranberry Punch - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. water
1 1/8 c. brown sugar
3/8 tsp. salt
3/8 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. allspice
1 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1 (46 oz.) can unsweetened pineapple juice
1 bottle cranberry juice cocktail
rum flavoring to taste
red food coloring
Preparation

Combine water and sugar.
Place spices in bag and tie securely.
Put bag of spices into pot of sugar and water.
Bring only to a boil.
This syrup can be made ahead of time and keeps well in the refrigerator.
Add pineapple and cranberry juice to mixture; mix well.
Heat.
Add rum flavoring to taste and red food coloring to brighten.
Add dots of butter and serve in mugs with cinnamon sticks as stirrers, if desired.
