Brer Rabbit Molasses Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. hot water
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 c. molasses
    1 egg
Preparation
    Cream the Crisco, sugar and egg.
    Sift together the dry ingredients.
    Add alternately with molasses and hot water.
    Bake 40 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0 in an 8 x 8-inch greased pan.
