Cottage Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 large carrot, chopped
    2 sticks celery, chopped
    1 medium onion
    1/2 pt. stock (beef)
    salt and pepper to taste
    mixed herbs to taste
    1 1/2 lb. potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Boil potatoes; drain.
    Mash with milk and seasonings.
    Fry onion in oil until soft.
    Add beef, carrot, celery and stock.
    Cook 45 minutes.
    Transfer to ovenproof dish.
    Cover with mashed potatoes.
    Top with sharp Cheddar cheese.
    Cook at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
