Black-Eyed Peas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pkg. dry black-eyed peas
    1 c. onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. celery, diced
    meat for seasoning
Preparation
    Soak peas for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    In 4-quart pot, add all ingredients and cover with water.
    Boil until peas are done. Serves 6 to 8.
