Red Cake Recipe - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 scant tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make a paste of food coloring and cocoa; add to mixture.
    Add salt, flour, buttermilk and vanilla.
    Mix in vinegar and soda
    but do not beat.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
