Swiss Apfeltor Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. margarine, softened
    1 egg
    3 c. tart apples, peeled and cored into 1/8-inch slices
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    In large bowl, put sugar, margarine and egg.
    Beat until light and fluffy.
    In sifter, sift flour, cinnamon, baking powder, nutmeg, ginger, soda, salt and cloves.
    Sift dry ingredients into the sugar, margarine and egg.
    Beat well (will be stiff).
    Gently stir in sliced apples by hand.
    Apples will blend into batter. Turn into buttered 9-inch pie pan.
    Spread smooth.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Serves 6.
    Good with ice cream.
