Baked French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 loaves French or Italian bread
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    6 to 8 eggs
    1 qt. half and half
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt butter and sugar in 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish.
    Cut bread into thick slices.
    Layer bread over sugar and butter in two layers.
    Beat eggs, half and half and vanilla.
    Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until light brown.
    Serve each person 2 layers so they get brown sugar bottom.
