Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. pecan pieces
Preparation
    Cook sugar, soda and buttermilk until boiling over medium heat.
    Continue cooking until it has a brown color and makes a soft ball.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla and butter.
    Stir until it has a glossy look.
    Add pecans.
