Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. small to medium pods okra
    salt and pepper
    bacon fat or shortening
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. cornmeal
Preparation
    Wash okra.
    Remove ends of pods.
    Cut okra into 1/4-inch slices.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix meal and flour.
    Roll okra in mixture and fry in hot fat until golden brown.
