Chocolate Caramel Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. light caramels
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. melted margarine
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    In heavy saucepan, cook and stir caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk until melted. Set aside.
    Combine cake mix, melted margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts.
    Stir until dough holds together.
    Press half the mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips, then pour on melted caramel mixture. Crumble reserved dough over caramel layer. Bake an additional 15 to 18 minutes. Cool and cut in bars.
    Makes 40 bars.
