Red Cinnamon Cucumber Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. large cucumbers, peeled, seeded and cut up (sticks or pieces)
    2 c. pickling lime
    8 to 9 qt. water
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1 Tbsp. alum
    1 oz. red food coloring
    3 c. cider vinegar
    10 c. sugar (5 lb. bag)
    2 c. water
    3 1/4 oz. pkg. red hots
    8 sticks cinnamon
Preparation
    Bring to a boil and let stand over cucumbers overnight.
    (May have to boil a while in order to melt red hots.)
