Cherry Slices - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter (1 c.)
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cans cherry pie filling
Preparation

Cream butter thoroughly.
Add sugar and beat well.
Add eggs one at a time.
Add vanilla.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
Add sifted dry ingredients gradually, beating well.
Spread in a large 11 x 17-inch greased pan, saving a little more than a cup of batter.
Spread cherry pie filling to within half-inch from edges of pan.
Place remaining dough by spoonfuls over the cherry filling.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes.
When cooked, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Makes about 30 slices.
