New England Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 stick margarine
    1 large onion, peeled and sliced
    4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
    2 cans cream-style corn
    milk
    real bacon bits (optional)
    evaporated milk (optional)
Preparation
    Melt margarine in large saucepan.
    Add onion and cook a few minutes until tender.
    Add potatoes and enough water to cover them in the pan.
    Cover and bring to a boil.
    Turn heat back to maintain boil, for about 10 minutes.
