Squash Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 10 squash, cooked
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. corn meal
    1 c. cheese (optional)
    1 onion, chopped
    1 c. flour
    1 egg
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Mash squash; add other ingredients.
    Drop by spoonfuls into deep fat.
    Brown on one side; turn and brown on other side. Remove from fat; drain on paper towels.
