Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar; cream until light and fluffy. Add vanilla.
Add dry ingredients with milk; alternate.
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in cake pan.
Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons brown sugar.
Arrange pineapple and nuts.
Pour butter over fruit and bake 45 minutes in moderate oven.
