Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 c. smashed strawberries
2 Tbsp. water with red food coloring in it
4 c. fresh strawberries

Preparation

Combine first 4 ingredients; cook over medium to low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and cool. Clean and prepare fresh strawberries; slice and arrange in baked 9-inch pie crust.
Pour mixture over strawberries.
Top with whipped topping just before serving.
