Oatmeal Toll House Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar (granulated)
    1 tsp. hot water
    1 pkg. chocolate chips
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    1 c. chopped nutmeats
    2 c. oatmeal, uncooked (quick)
Preparation
    Sift flour with soda and salt.
    Cream shortening until soft. Add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one.
    Add hot water.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Add nutmeats, chocolate chips, oatmeal and vanilla. Blend.
    Drop on cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
