Cajun Red Beans And Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. red kidney beans
1/2 to 1 lb. ham seasoning (ham bone is great)
2 bay leaves
2 chopped onions
6 cloves chopped garlic
salt to taste
black or red pepper to taste
2 qt. water
Preparation

Soak beans in water overnight.
Rinse and sort.
Add beans and 2 quarts of water.
Combine all ingredients and cook covered on low for approximately 2 hours or until beans are soft.
To thicken, mash some beans or add a mixture of cornstarch and water.
Serve over rice.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
