Ingredients

1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. Crisco (not margarine)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation

Cream together butter, Crisco and sugar until light colored and fluffy.
Beat in molasses and eggs.
Set aside.
Combine flour, salt, baking soda, ginger, cloves and cinnamon.
Gradually mix flour mixture into creamed mixture.
Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.
Dip tops into granulated sugar.
Place 2 1/2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 11 minutes.
