Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. applesauce
2 level tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. floured raisins
Preparation

Dissolve the baking soda in the applesauce and set aside. Cream together, until fluffy, the sugar, shortening and eggs. Combine all dry ingredients; add to the shortening mixture, alternating with the applesauce mixture.
Mix well.
Mix in vanilla.
Stir in the raisins.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for one hour in a greased and floured tube pan.
