Katy'S Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 stick margarine
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    few drops almond flavoring
    1 Tbsp. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream Crisco, margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Alternate adding flour and buttermilk, starting and ending with flour and beating well after each addition.
    Add flavoring.
    Add boiling water and beat well.
    Bake in largest size stem pan (one made all together is best) which has been greased and floured.
    Bake in 300\u00b0 oven for 1 1/4 hours or until golden brown.
