Rich Dinner Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. margarine
1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
2 pkg. yeast
2 eggs, beaten
5 1/4 c. flour (about)
Preparation
-
Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and margarine.
Cool to lukewarm.
Measure warm water into large warm bowl.
Sprinkle in yeast; stir until dissolved.
Add lukewarm milk mixture, eggs and 2 cups of flour.
Beat until smooth (I usually let set to rise until double and then.)
Stir in enough remaining flour to make soft dough.
Turn out onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top.
Cover and let rise in warm place, free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 30 minutes.
Punch down. Turn out on lightly floured board.
Shape into rolls.
Bake in moderate oven, 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0, about 15 to 20 minutes.
(I usually punch down twice and let rise before shaping into rolls.)
