Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 lb. cucumbers
2 lb. lime
2 gal. water
4 1/2 lb. sugar
2 qt. white vinegar
1 Tbsp. plain salt
bay pickle spice
Preparation

Slice up the cucumbers.
Mix 2 gallons of water with 2 pounds of lime.
Add cucumbers and allow to soak or 24 hours.
Then, drain and rinse the cucumbers and place in ice water.
Allow to stand for 3 hours.
Make the syrup during this time by mixing all remaining ingredients well.
Drain pickles and pour syrup over top.
The next day, boil until the mixture is clear and place into canning jars.
