Ingredients

1 yellow cake mix
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. coconut
3 1/2 c. Cool Whip, thawed
Preparation

Prepare cake mix according to instructions on box.
Let cool 15 minutes; then poke holes down through cake with utility fork. Mix milk, sugar and half of coconut in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 minute.
Spoon over cake; let cool completely.
Mix Cool Whip and half of the remaining coconut together and spread over cake.
Top with remaining coconut; keep refrigerated.
