German Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. cabbage, finely chopped
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salad oil
    salt and pepper to taste
    celery seed to taste
Preparation
    Heat vinegar, sugar and salad oil to boiling point and pour immediately over chopped vegetables.
    Add salt, pepper and celery seed.
    Let stand at least overnight.
    The longer, the better.
    It improves with age.
    Keep in covered container in refrigerator.
