Prince Of Wales Cake(Dates From 1860'S) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 eggs
1/2 lb. butter
1 lb. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. cold water
1 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1 tsp. allspice, ground
1 tsp. cloves, ground
1 tsp. nutmeg, ground
1 lb. seedless raisins
1 lb. currants
1 c. sugar
1/2 lb. citron
Preparation

Beat eggs very lightly and add butter.\tWork until light.
Beat all together and gradually put in flour, containing baking powder and water.\tStir into the batter cinnamon, allspice, cloves and nutmeg.
Cut citron into small pieces, seedless raisins.
Wash and dry currants.
Stir all into the batter and bake in a quicker oven than necessary for other cakes, covering the top to prevent burning.
Bake until done.
