Cheesy Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    1 chopped onion (medium)
    6 or 7 medium potatoes or 1 pkg. hash browns (32 oz. bag)
    garlic salt (sprinkle to suit taste)
    salt (sprinkle to suit taste)
    pepper (sprinkle lightly to suit taste)
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 lb. Velveeta cheese
    1 1/2 to 2 soup cans milk
Preparation
    Saute onion in melted butter.
    Peel potatoes and cut in small cubes (or use 1 package hash browns).
    Add to onions and barely cover with hot water.
    Season with garlic salt, salt and pepper. Cook until mushy.
    Stir in 1 can cream of chicken soup.
    Cut cheese into thin slices and stir in.
    Stir until cheese is melted. Stir in 1 1/2 to 2 soup cans of milk, depending on how thick you prefer soup.
    Correct seasoning.
    This is good cold or hot.
    It can be made a day or two before serving.
