Ingredients

1 egg
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. raisins
6 Tbsp. chilled butter
Preparation

Mix together the first 4 ingredients; set aside.
Mix the next 4 dry ingredients and raisins.
Combine together the wet and dry ingredients.
Take the chilled butter; with 2 table knives, cut together until totally mixed.
Do not mix too much, but until a lump consistency.
Form into a round stone shapes about 2 inches thick.
Place on a baking sheet in oven preheated to 400\u00b0 for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until a golden brown.
