Easy French Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    2 1/2 c. warm water
    2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. warm oil or melted margarine
    2 tsp. salt
    7 1/2 to 8 c. flour (bread type)
    1 beaten egg to brush on unbaked loaves
Preparation
    Mix ingredients in order given, except flour.
    Gradually add flour until a soft dough (that no longer sticks to sides) forms. Knead 10 minutes, using flour as needed.
    Probably will not use all the flour.
    Cover and let rise until doubled.
    Punch down and wait 15 minutes, then form into 2 long loaves.
    Brush with egg.
    Let rise until doubled.
    Meantime, preheat oven with a 9 x 13-inch pan of hot water on bottom shelf.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
