Ingredients

1 1/2 c. cut dates
3/4 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 c. coconut, chopped
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Sift flour, salt and brown sugar.
Cut in butter until coarse crumbs.
Stir in coconut and nuts.
Press half of crumbs in bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Spread with filling.
Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
Press down lightly.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool and cut in bars.
