Lemon Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. cornstarch
    1 1/2 c. water
    3 eggs, separated
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind (1 large lemon)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix together 1 1/2 cups sugar, cornstarch and water; cook until thick.
    Beat the egg yolks; add slowly to the thickened, cooked ingredients.
    Cook for 1 minute.
    Add the butter, lemon juice and grated rind.
    Pour into a baked pie crust.
    Beat the egg whites.
    Add vanilla and cream of tartar; beat until soft peaks form.
    Add 6 tablespoons sugar; beat until stiff peaks form.
    Put on filling, being careful to seal the meringue onto the edge of crust to prevent shrinking and weeping.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until meringue is lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes.
