Scrubby'S Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
    1 whole chopped onion
    5 c. water
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    3 carrots, sliced thin
    1 large can tomatoes with juice
    1/2 c. barley (optional)
    1/2 head cabbage, shredded
    1 large can kidney beans or 2 medium-size cans
    1 beef bouillon cube
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 c. catsup
    1 tsp. seasoned salt
    basil as desired (optional)
Preparation
    Brown ground chuck into bite-size chunks with onion.
    Add water and remaining ingredients.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Stir occasionally.
