Clara'S Caramel Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks margarine
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    2 c. light brown sugar
    2 cans evaporated milk (we call this cream, but it really isn't)
Preparation
    Melt margarine.
    Add brown sugar and syrup. Cook until sugar is dissolved but do not boil. Remove from heat.
    Mix half of the milk with half of the syrup mixture, then add to remaining syrup. Do not curdle milk. Serve over gingerbread, chocolate, yellow or spice cake or ice cream.
    May be served warm or cool.
