Southern Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda in a bowl.
    Cut in shortening until mixture is the consistency of cornmeal.
    Stir in the buttermilk.
    Dough needs to be pliable and easy to roll.
    If dough is too sticky, add a little flour at a time.
    Roll out dough on a floured surface and knead lightly.
    Cut biscuits and place on a buttered pan.
    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
