Dutch Chocolate Bars - cooking recipe

1 c. quick cooking oats, uncooked
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. walnuts, ground
all-purpose flour
margarine or butter
baking soda
salt
1 (1 oz.) sq. semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
Preparation

Early in day, preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Into small bowl, measure oats, brown sugar, walnuts, 1/3 cup flour, 4 tablespoons margarine (1/2 stick, melted), 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well mixed. Pat mixture into bottom of floured 8 x 8-inch baking pan. Bake 10 minutes.
