Pecan Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (Crisco)
    2 c. light brown sugar (1 lb. box = 2 c. sugar, I use Domino for consistency)
    2 eggs
    3 c. plain or all-purpose flour, sifted
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. broken pecans (large pieces)
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Mix by hand in large bowl.
    Cream shortening and add brown sugar.
    Mix well.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Sift flour, salt, soda and cream of tartar together.
    Add to other ingredients.
    Mix in nuts.
    Turn out on wax paper and form into rolls 2-inches in diameter.
    Roll in wax paper and store in refrigerator overnight or until firm.
    Slice and bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    Let cookies fall after out of oven.
