Cabbage Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. chopped cabbage
    2 c. chopped onions
    2 c. chopped sweet red peppers
    2 c. chopped sweet green peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    8 c. water
    4 c. vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix the vegetables and sprinkle with the salt.
    Add the water and let the vegetables soak in the brine for 1 hour.
    Drain. Rinse in clear cold water and drain again.
    Add the vinegar, sugar and seeds. Bring to a boil.
    Simmer for 20 minutes.
    Pack boiling hot into hot jars and seal.
