Ingredients

1 c. softened butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add the eggs, vanilla and sour cream. Blend well.
Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and nutmeg.
Add slowly to the creamed mixture.
Mix well. Divide into 4 to 5 balls and chill overnight or 3 to 4 hours. Roll on a floured surface.
Cut into desired shapes and sprinkle with colored sugar crystals, if desired.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
