Mexican Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. hush puppy mix
    1 onion, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 lb. (or more) ground beef
    1 (12 oz.) can whole kernel corn
    1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes
    3 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Melt shortening in skillet; add onion, ground beef and seasonings.
    Break up meat and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
    Add corn and tomatoes and bring to boil, breaking up tomatoes with spoon.
    Pour into shallow baking dish.
    Stir up hush puppy mix according to package directions, then spoon over meat mixture.
    Bake in hot 400\u00b0 oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Makes 6 to 8 nice servings.
